CHAPTER 11*When Paige and Kevin get back to where their group had separated, they find Brynn and Joe building a sand castle. Brynn was laughing as Joe flicked sand at her.*KEVIN: *Walking up to Brynn and Joe.* Hi you two. Have fun while we were gone?*In response, Joe and Brynn just look at each other and crack up. Kevin, clearly missing something, starts to ask what was so funny, but Paige interrupts. She understands that whatever Joe and Brynn had been doing, it was none of their business.*PAIGE: So Brynn, have you seen Gabrielle?BRYNN: *Looking around and noticing that Gabrielle wasn't with them.* Um, no, I haven't actually.JOE: *Looking around as well.* Hmm, they only went to get ice cream, right? Generally that doesn't take two hours.KEVIN: *Concerned.* Do you think we should try to find...*As he spoke, Nick and Gabrielle came into view distantly, walking along the boardwalk. Gabrielle still on Nick's back.*KEVIN: I spoke too soon. Come on, let's get ready to go, so we can leave when they get here.PAIGE: *Shivering.* Yeah, it's getting kinda cold.*Joe, Kevin, Brynn, and Paige gather all of their clothes and shoes and start to walk back to the Jeep. As they do so, Gabrielle and Nick catch up to them.*NICK: Okay, time for you to walk. I think my back is about to break.GABRIELLE: *Hitting his arm.* Hey, I thought I didn't weigh that much!NICK: *Grinning at her.* Well, that was before. I think that ice cream cone put you over the edge.*Gabrielle punched him again, and he grinned even wider. They followed their friends to the car, and everyone got in.*JOE: Oh, well, it looks like you have to sit on my lap again, Brynn. Too bad.*Brynn starts to laugh, and Joe picks her up and swings her into the Jeep. He gets in after her, and sits down. She curls up on his lap and he puts his arms around her again.*BRYNN: I'm not cold this time!JOE: *Smiling.* Oh, I know.;)
