I F*CKING STACKED IT!!!basicly i was nose in with camera behind heli infront of me :( couldnt judge distance from my vantage point and thought i was closer to camera than i actually was pushed forward on the cyclic too hard and couldnt recover :(

Jul 27, 2008 - considering you dont even have a vid of you flying ANYTHING i will just assume you have no idea what you are talking about lol you might of had a point if the heli had hit me or the camera but what actually got owned here? the heli? the grass? the earth underneath? i ditched that heli into the ground coz i thought i was gonna hit the cam operator! but no one got hurt so i think i did ok myself

Jul 27, 2008 - yeah bring it up higher it does help, but then you have to get used to seeing the underside of the heli and that's another thing it can be difficult to know if it's level.

Jul 31, 2008 - i suggest you put more head speed to your heli my friend.. it will help a lot.. the more speed you have the more stable your heli gets.. and the less cyclic movements you'll make... throttle curb: 0%,80%,95%,100% in normal mode.. then pitch curb for normal mode: 0,40,50,75,100for idle up: 0,25,50,75,100 100%,95%80%,95%,100% idle-up mode..

Aug 1, 2008 - Sorry about having to dump it like that (you're doing well).Personally, I can only recommend keeping the bird in front of you at all times and have your camera person or anyone else behind you at al times. (I don't want to sound like a safety nazi, but I don't want to see anyone cop a blade to the face either)

Aug 2, 2008 - yep i agree with you mate and good sound advice yet again normaly i the camera is behind me or to the side dunno why we tried it this way that day but lesson learned :D i think the camera lady trusts me too much and thinks i can fly beteer than i do lol either that or she knows full well i wouldnt let it hit her as much as id let it hit myself and i aint up for getting chopped lol

Aug 2, 2008 - yes your right mate but for some reason (we were kiting that day aswell) we were in a kite flight setting so to speak instead of a heli one and it was me own fault coz what i could of done is either stopped half circle or flr circle and a half and be facing the other way to camera thus putting us both in the safe zone :) hindsight eh?? lol but hopefully others will see all my mistakes and learn to fly better from it

Aug 2, 2008 - cheers mate it felt quite nice that day and im sure i could of lasted longer if the camera wasnt in my line of site at the time and heli shifted to what looked like right in her face or soon to be turns out i had a good 5 feet clearance between heli and her but sure didnt look it from where i was stood at the time

Aug 3, 2008 - 2 servos, mainshaft, feathering shaft, tail fins, main blades, boom plus bus fair to go get parts roughly £40 say? but then i added a rce-600 with ds520 a ar7000, zippy 2250 lipos 3x, align main blades tail blades horizontal fin and tail blade holder assembly, jeti 30amp programable esc, super skids, flycam v2 and a coupla other bits i forget off the top of my head and all that came to quite alot
