Aug 9, 2008 - Democracy and freedom are the best ways to go, but history has shown that they are not the only way to go and Cuba and some other countries have demostrated that.Like we say in spanish. La libertad no tiene precio, which means. Freedom has no price.

PatriaYVida Says:

Aug 9, 2008 - Fidel Castro, Raul Castro, half a century in power, only one political party allow in Cuba, which is the communist party. All these things equal.Dictatorship.

funfun168 Says:

Aug 9, 2008 - Does Dictatorship lead to pain to people every time?

PatriaYVida Says:

Aug 9, 2008 - In the case of Cuba, I would say yes.I wonder if you have ever live in a country under a dictatorship? You sound like this is something that should be consider as normal or positive for the way you ask.

PatriaYVida Says:

Aug 9, 2008 - Can you picture yourself living in a country in which you are expected to say yes to all the decisions from the govenrment, whether you agreed or no?In a country in which to have live with so much hipocracy?

funfun168 Says:

Aug 9, 2008 - PatriaYVida, I can not live in a country like that, but I cannot represent them and tell how they feel...Can you?

VallumAelium Says:

Aug 9, 2008 - Fidel Castrato

Ianpbx Says:

Aug 9, 2008 - In United States all you get is Republican and Democrat and they are two cheeks of the same arse. Here in theUK we get Labour and Conservative, but there is barely any difference. In Canada you get Conservative and Liberal and there is barely any difference either. They all play musical chairs but serve the same masters, not us, but we all get shafted. Is that any difference to a dictatorship?

PatriaYVida Says:

Aug 10, 2008 - Try by moving to Cuba and live there as a simple cuban citizen, like most of us are. Then you are going to see the difference, by seeing things from outside, everything looks easy.

PatriaYVida Says:

Aug 10, 2008 - Yes I can and the reason is very simple.I am cuban and know what I'm talking about.I was bord there and I have lived longer in Cuba, than in Canada and I have been back a few times.

Ianpbx Says:

Aug 10, 2008 - Please explain

Ianpbx Says:

Aug 10, 2008 - Well obviously. There IS a trade embargo that has been imposed by the U.S. since 1962. Life in Britain during the war was pretty bad because we had Germany threatening us, just like the U.S., the dominant power of the area, threatening Cuba. It's effectively a siege economy. Blame successive U.S. governments, not Castro.

PatriaYVida Says:

Aug 11, 2008 - I understand what you're saying, but as it always happens everywhere. The little people are the one who suffer the most, no the people in power, they have the necesary things to live some kind of normal live.Beside the good and bad things Fidel has done, I don't think he should have remained in power for so many years with comple control of everything in Cuba.

juanro007 Says:

Aug 13, 2008 - Say no to the imperialists Russians! They are baby killers and want to control the world's oil. Let's stop these imperialists Russians from exploiting, raping and looting this country! Stop the bloodshed in Georgia! We will make a "million man march" on Washington. I'm calling on all our leftists "friends" to show their support.RUSSKI GO HOME!STOP THE WAR!

millonariodeluz1989 Says:

Aug 15, 2008 - VIVA FIDEL!!!!Cuba sera communista por siempre!!!

DamiHeart Says:

Aug 17, 2008 - im cuban and proud fidel castro es una perra de mierda!

millerpiccinini8 Says:

Aug 19, 2008 - Fidel is one of the many who realise that capitalism only results in a hierarchy of a corporate elite and as a result of that, ignorance in most others. Striving for profit becomes more important than morality the rest of society. Fidel recognises this and that industry can br a service to people instead of being their master. The government should be the peoples government not the corporations' government through mass bribery.

mexicano1203 Says:

Aug 19, 2008 - castro can go shoot himself

AlexaHaddow Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - I think the point is Cuba is very progressive in someways, though behind in others. ie; the system of government could be more democratic. However this country survived an oil crisis, which we are all going to have to face. Is the only sustainable country on earth, provide more foreign aid in the form of doctors than any other country, and free education-healthcare. I think we can ALL learn from Cuba, let's hope Venezuala turns out just as well. Together, I can see latin america very prosperous.

Aug 20, 2008 - Shit, the below comment was from me. I posted on my girlfriends account. If anyone wants to comment, PLEASE message/reply to my account, not hers.

juanro007 Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - 1. Oil "crisis" in a country where (for the majority) Most still use horse and carriage?2. "Sustainable country"? Cuba imports over 85% of it food and goods.3. "Free" education? You have to work in the cane fields.4. Healthcare is "free" too. You just have to ask a family member in the US to send you the medical supplies (bring your sheets, toilet paper and other supplies at the "free" hospital).5. I absolutely agree with you that we can all learn from Cuba; how NOT to run a country.

ausnexus Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Coming from the guy who claims Russia controls the worlds oil? Did you march to stopd the invasion of Iraq as you plan to do for Georgia? I hope so.1. Cuba had no oil for ten years, due to the embargo. I said we will all have to face it, ie; HASNT HAPPENED YET. But it's going to. Oil won't last forever. 2. Not anymore, this isnt 1993.3. No, they do. There more schools/unis pp han any other country.4. You're an idiot. Even Amnesty Int/Human Rights Watch acknlowedge Cubas healthcare system.

tubbeando Says:

Aug 20, 2008 - Excellent report. However, Pinochet was a dictator in Chile, not in Argentina.
