The Democratic candidate gave assurances while visiting the official residence of the Israeli prime minister. He also promised to help Palestinians get their own state.Republican John McCain campaigned in Pennsylvania, a state that hasn't voted for a Republican for president since 1988. There he gave President Bush credit for lifting an executive order banning offshore oil drilling--an idea McCain has backed. McCain says that lead to a ten dollar a barrel drop in the price of oil. German police arrested a man on the grounds where Obama is scheduled to speak Thursday. Police say a 40-year-old driver plowed through a barricade in Berlin. A former German president says an Obama presidency could pave the way for a new trans-atlantic relationship. McCain had planned to go to Louisiana Wednesday night, but was forced to cancel the trip due to severe weather.
