Benny Poetiray And The Crazy Rockers Live At The Bintang Theatre 1998.Finally after 35 years Indorocker Benny Poetiray is making a longtime dream come true and shares the stage of the Bintang Theatre together with his heroes the Crazy Rockers.Back in the 60's when Benny Poetiray was still a little kid, he was dreaming of making it big as a guitar player on his own someday, meanwhile listening to the music of his Indorock heroes the Tielman Brothers, the Black Dynamites and the Crazy Rockers. He sometimes got to play rhythm guitar in the band of his older brothers, the Poetiray Brothers. After his oldest brother Ruben Poetiray (bandleader & lead guitar player of the Poetiray Brothers) was drafted to serve in the militairy, Benny finally got a chance to prove himself as the new lead guitar player in the Poetiray Brothers. In the 70's Benny continued playing with various other groups such as Hanny & the Rekels and Alexander's Sound Express (Alexander Pöschel). After Andy Tielman left the Tielman Brothers in 1979, the band quickly needed a new bandmember so they asked Benny to join the band.In 1981 Andy came back to demand his rightful spot in the group again and Benny Poetiray joined Edu Schalk and the Entertainers. This band was known for their great sounding Indorock instrumentals which were dominated by the vintage Fender Jazzmaster sound of lead guitarist Rob Pool.In 1982 the Entertainers recorded an 4-track EP with Andy Tielman and sometime later Benny Poetiray would join the Tielman Brothers again because this time Andy Tielman suddenly left the band to go to Indonesia. After having toured all throughout Germany, Austria and Switserland for a while, the Tielman Brothers finally disbanded.By that time Benny Poetiray had already been replaced by a another guitar player.Meanwhile Benny remained active in the music scene playing guitar in Jacky Rain's Mister Showband, Frankie Hart and NADA among others. In the 2nd half of the 1990's Benny gets a chance to play with the Black Dynamites and sees another dream of him come true.Together with these true legends of Indorock he accompanies Dutch superstars such as Johnny Lion and Anneke Grönloh. In the summer of 1998 the Crazy Rockers are to perform at the Pasar Malam Besar's Bintang Theatre and are inviting a host of guests to join them on stage.Max Tahalele (lead guitarist best known for having played with such legendary Indorock groups as the Black Magic, The Royal Tielman, the Tielman Brothers/Andy Tielman, the Black Dynamites, the Residents and the Crazy Rockers), Alfons Favery (lead guitarist for such top acts as the Tielman Brothers and the Timebreakers), Jan Akkerman (longtime Crazy Rockers/Tielman Brothers/Indorock fan and best known as bandmember from Johnny and his Cellar Rockers, the Hunters, Brainbox and Focus) all are on the guestlist together with Benny Poetiray who finally gets a chance to shine on stage between some of the greatest of Indorockers from the 60's.Today Benny Poetiray is best known as a lead guitarist specialized in the legendary Andy Tielman Indorock style and meanwhile collected some kind of a following of his own who admire him for trying to keep the original Tielman Brothers sound alive.

Jul 10, 2008 - Why people always tag team jazzmasters and it always works? I think out of all guitars, there is none that sounds better with it's counterpart than the jazzmaster.
