Because, there is one and only KJ Yesudas.If MG starts singing in a competition, I am sure he will not win. because there are so many good talents in Kerala who are far better than this cheap guy. Does not have common sense to say one single word about her singing. MG os sitting in the panel only because he is the close sinkidi of Mohanlal and Priyadarshan. Otherwise he would have been kicked a long ago.

May 14, 2008 - hi.. first of al she s not a mallu...shes a konkani gal broght up in delli...so there is no chance that she can speak malayalam..all the malayalm that she nos n speaks is thru the malayalam channels that she watches..but inspiye of that if she has made an effort of coming to trivandrum that too wen she had her mathematics xam(final yr) just one day aftr her shoot, i dont thnk ppl shud blame n discourage her n her parents like this..

May 15, 2008 - hi every1...being a good friend of asha, it really hurt me 2 read d comments some of u have written abt her....1st of all she is a konkani girl who speaks better malayalam than many of my malayali friends..she had learnt some malayalam songs especially for this competition but M.G. wanted 2 listen 2 an old malayalam song only...if he really wanted 2 check her malayalam, he could have heard the song which she had prepared...

May 15, 2008 - Asha is definitely talented but she must understand that this is a show for Malayalis. She says she can understand Malayalam very well and also spoke a bit in it. If Imran Khan can sing well in Hindi without understanding it, then what is the problem ?.It is unfortunate that people are nowadays losing respect for their mother tongue and local language. BTW, Im a Telugu from TN and my parents insisted that I speak and respect both Telugu and Tamil.

May 16, 2008 - The judges could have thought fit to give a warning to contestants who sing non-Malayalam songs all the time. If the show is full of Hindi songs for example, what difference to this and a show in Zee/Star etc.

May 16, 2008 - see dude...u have a point...but i think u havent read the other comments..jus 2 remind u..asha is not a malayalee..shes a gowd saraswath konkan brahmin..so malayalam is not actually her mother tongue,its konkani..she participated in this show jus for her love for music..so theres no point comparing her wid imran khan..so respect her for her attempt...rather than jus blaming her for nothing..she is immensely talented n m sure she ll come out wid flying colours 1 day..way 2 go asha...

May 17, 2008 - I do know she is not a Malayalee. All Im saying is that contestants should learn Malayalam songs as Ouseppachan Sir said here. WRT Imran, all I meant is that not knowing a language should not be a barrier.In fact I'm commenting here since I feel this girl is good but lost out by not having the correct approach. If I thought she is not good at all, I will not bother.

May 24, 2008 - She sang very well. However, I think the judges where right in pointing out the pitfalls in letting her in without singing Malayalam songs once in a while. From past experience, our viewers and judges were pretty open minded with all languages. However, the ball is in her to prove that she is taking extra efforts to sing Mal songs. Once again, great talent!
