Jul 20, 2008 - he has a vulnerable tone to his voice that gives him a sweet believable charm. You could never see him being a bad man, thats what attracts many to him. Though his interpritation of islam has flaws unfortunately and his 3lims are mystics who interpret the quaran as if it is a book of morse code. I ask allah to guide him and them, who think allah is in his creation.

Jul 20, 2008 - well sufism isn't a sect, TRUE sufism is a traditional ISlamic science. I have more information on it and on traditional Islam, just look in the description. Sunnipath has some really good info. I don't think I have heard anything disturbing from him either.

Jul 20, 2008 - I think think there are some reasons people are against him. One I think is because of Sufism. Sufism has become defamed I think because many peopel have been doing bidah and ascribing it to Sufism and also I think because of "Salafis"/Wahhabis. Another reason I think people are against him is because I think that they feel he has become more liberal after 9/11 whereas he was more conservative before it. Maybe othere things too.

Jul 20, 2008 - But still, I think Shaykh Hamza Yusuf has done many great things for Islam, especially traditional Islam.

Jul 21, 2008 - JazakaLLah khairan for answering and information. I don't want to go into details on trying to find out these things but I did wonder what the big fuss is about, especially since I think Hamza Yusuf gives really good speeches. A friend of mine allready clearafied it too in a simple way and it's kind of a relief. Hate to see muslims caught up in demonising eachother over some small differences.

Jul 21, 2008 - Now, he is misquoting the Quran, denying certain verses, presenting wrong hadeeth and in general showing Islam in the wrong light. And to make matters worse, he is doing it on prime time television
