Jul 13, 2008 - We rely on translators to provide correct information on the meanings of words in other languages. This passage (Surah 4:34) is consistently translated by Arabic, French, German and English tranlators, and the addition of modifiers in some translations (Ali adds "lightly" where no modifier in fact exists) doesn't change the meaning of the passage. This isn't a deception, and claiming that it is a deception doesn't change anything. The text reads the way the text reads...period.

Jul 14, 2008 - Can you prove that i'm wrong with the translation? Even if we rely on translators, there is still the possibility that what u get is not what it originally is.

Jul 14, 2008 - Wait...you make the assertion that this video is a deception. You further asserted that Abu Dawud is anecdotal.Don't put it on me to prove your assertions for you. You asserted that Surah 4:34 is mistranslated or incorrectly translated. I pointed out (and correctly so) that Surah 4:34 is consistently translated by multiple sources from different people with different native languages. If you got caught up in the topic and overextended, that's ok. It happens to us all...

Jul 15, 2008 - Abu dawud is a collector of anecdotal accounts attributed to the sayings of the prophet that were floating around during his time, given by people who never even met the prophet. They were collected for over 200 yrs after the death of muhammad. We all know that annecdotes are in no way reliable or accurate most if not all the time due to the self-deception and wishful thinking of humans when they gave accounts. You shouldn't rely on authority figures(those who know arabic) for truth.

Jul 15, 2008 - Instead of arguing for something that u don't exactly have much knowledge of, learn arabic and research about the word 'nushuz' and 'adriboo'.Solid empirical evidence is what you're looking for right? To use your naturalistic senses to directly decipher the code yourself rather than someone making a claim that the decipher text he has is true.

Jul 15, 2008 - I said nothing about Abu Dawud, you did. I only spoke to the Arabic translations of Surah 4:34.Please, stay on topic. You're overextending again...

Jun 17, 2008 - A point to note, never ever belief in anything that you have no knowledge of which in this case Arabic language and the message of the quran in context, as a whole. The key words to the mistranslation are 'nushuz' and 'adriboo', which have multiple meanings, the right meaning dependent of its context . surah 4.34Your video is an obvious deception,if u are gonna show qranic verses, make sure they are COMPLETE and accurately translated.abu dawud book is an anecdote, which is unreliable by nature
