Nov 18, 2008 - Well i said those will be my main games, but i will also like to play crysis smoothly and any future games.

chestbuster1987 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Get Intel's Core 2 Duo E8500. It's the best of Intel's dual-core CPUs. Google for reviews and benchmarks.

chestbuster1987 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Also, I think it's too much money spent on these 10,000 RPM hard drives. I personally would get two regular s-ata2 hard drives with a decent access time and run them in a RAID 0 configuration. It's sufficient for gaming. Also use a regular hard drive for the operating system. ... Just a way to save some money...

Xen8 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - yes you will be able to play crysis everything on very high, and you will get about 40-60fps (average) :P like sunburst said its too good for those games :P

canvoodoo Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - yes buy a mac pro lol

CrdBrdProjects Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - lets not...

CrdBrdProjects Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - 1: skip out on the e8 series, go with a q6600, just don't buy the new headsink/ fan, the intel stock cooling will overclock the quad core the 3 ghz no problems, replace the 300 GB harddrive with a 500, since 500s are like i dunno... 100 bucks now? AND ONLY USE FUCKING XP.

canvoodoo Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - only joking I new that would wind you up

CrdBrdProjects Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - lol

ProAgony Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - bout to say xD

ProAgony Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Thanks for the help. The video is different now, read the description.I had already chose the q6600, and the zalman cooling look cooler than stock xD

CrdBrdProjects Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - oh, lol, good choice :p

th3d3wd3r Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - although the zalman is good, I'd still rather go with the thermalright 120 extreme, it's a top bollock cooler. Also, why use 9800gx2? the gtx 280 yields a much much better performance for crysis. Like, a hell of a lot better. With a gtx280 sli you'll be looking at 50fps, maybe more. Possibly up to 100fps.depending on display resolution and level of aa. I'd also say it's a good choice to go for the 500gb, but a raid array will make a huge increase in performance, maybe 2x300gb for budget.

th3d3wd3r Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Also, just so you know, nVidia has dropped the 9800gx2, it's not very good and has many many issues. So thats another incentive to go for the gtx 280's :)

TheLastHybrid Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - XP doesnit support more than 2 way sli.. The 9800GX2 runs in QuadSLi (4 way) when you are using them in SLi config. Vista is the only one who supports QuadSLi.Two 9800GX2 is a waste of money anyway at the moment, three 9800GTX's (my rig runs 3 way 9800GTX atm) get a equal average in FPS in Crysis, Call of Juzarez eg.On the other hand, the ATi 4870 series pwn the 9800 - and 200 series ;) I reccomend them! Only minus is that you need to change your motherboard.

CSSpl4yer Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - rofl xDD

kyledurussel Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - wtf i would have bought vista too, to dual boot, cause u spent like $200 dollars u diddnt need to just sayin

Rumph531 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Take a 2 way sli motherboard instead of 3 then you only use 2 cards. and the 3 ways boards are bad at overcloking. take some 2x2 Gb ram instead of 4x1

MyOverflow Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - CPU: Q9650Mobo: ASUS Maximus II FormulaVideo Card: 4870 X2OS: Vista 64-bit (DirectX10)Monitor: Samsung 30" Syncmaster (about $1500)That set-up can play just about any game, all the highest settings, no problem, and with a high resolution (2560x1600). The 4870 X2 isn't good with 22" resolution (1680x1050), because it's power really comes into play with it's scalability. Also, DirectX 10 cards are kinda wasted if you're only using XP.

Scwarz22 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - CPU: E8500 (you dont need quad cores right now and when nehalem comes out they'll be obsolete)Video Card: I'd reccomend Radeon 4850s in crossfire they will be enough for everything you need.Motherboard: Some X38 crossfire board like Asus P5E.Great performance and you don't need to spend that much money for little performance gain anyway, trust me.

Scwarz22 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - And 9800gx2 totally sucks don't get two.

keithallenlaw Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - I hope your putting that WD barebone in a caseand not leaving it open to those millions ofdust bunnies.

Eezaspanner Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - lol there is a comment for you.case is nice though and the music almost let me try and fool myself into believing all those components were actually all awesome. (oh gold star for the Velociraptor, that is actually awesome)

darkwars141 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - damn mad money

dngl21 Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Good thing you changed your Hard drive, now change your video card to a 9600GT and you will have a good rig. Btw if you go with an LCD you might want to get one with 2ms.
