Nov 18, 2008 - Does it seem at all too small sometimes, your Texan home, after SE Asia and all the other places you exposed yourself to?

Nov 18, 2008 - That feeling happened to me once in a house I owned In San Antonio after I had come back from vacationing at the Grand Canyon, but tonight my smoke alarm woke me to a room filled with acrid smoke from an electrical fire so mostly I'm feeling in danger in my current rickety shack.

Nov 18, 2008 - Thanks!:)

Nov 18, 2008 - Update: Two couches now that I have to sleep on one since the fire in my bedroom tonight.
katalina2007 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - WHAT?! You had a FIRE in your OWN bedroom?! Don't tell me you were smoking a ciggie while on the couch! More people DIE from bed fires caused by cigarettes! The drama continues in East Texas...I shall STAY TUNED!
marquisdejolie Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Electrical fire. Since none of the electrical outlets in my room work, I had to run outdoor extension chords in from other rooms cobbled together with power strips several months ago and three of them shorted out tonight (burning plastic stinks!)and also set my dust on fire. No cigarettes involved.
katalina2007 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Oh no!! I could see why the fire happened, then!! YIKES!! Are you STILL without power?! Your mom's house sounds like my mother's house, too--pretty much a DEATH TRAP :(
chevkoch Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Man, get the basics fixed please! You are no use to the world roasted :) I'm switching off electricity for the room I'm sleeping in at night, to minimise exposure to electromagnetic fields.
marquisdejolie Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - It's life-threatening, but it's a roof over my head (I'm kinda worried about the roof, too).
marquisdejolie Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - It's way too hot and humid to turn off my window A/C. Guess I need a thicker extension chord, though.
katalina2007 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Oh dear! My mother lives in a SELF-created fire hazard area...she created CLUTTER by HERSELF..She hangs onto newspapers and ol'magazines..>OPRAH would have a FIELD DAY with my mom :(
marquisdejolie Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Must be an old people thing. My mom does the same. I'd move into my other apartment but the city towed it off.
katalina2007 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Gotta be an OLD PEOPLE thing! VEry scary! My father-in-law--Same thing! I kinda have to watch my hubby, too!! YIKES!! Don't ya just HATE when the city tows away your very own HOME?! GRRR!!
ButterRivaLs Says:

marquisdejolie Says:

Nov 18, 2008 - Isn't it amazing how sometimes the trip back home is so much shorter than the trip out?
