Nov 19, 2008 - What the fuck is he talking about?!

RPCJerkobi Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - I find that KDE works better if you install it manually using Synaptic after installing normal ubuntu. (Then you get to use the awesome Gnome network manager) It moves good for me now, even on x64. Just don't try it in fedora, and don't use KDE 4, stick with 3, it's nice and stable.

RPCJerkobi Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - By linux machine you mean that old Dell Dimension desktop from like 2001?

SamueltehG33k Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - :P dont be mean

RPCJerkobi Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - lol Don't worry I have one too :P

RPCJerkobi Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - The only thing I don't like about xfce is you can't drag highlight. :(

ViciousDaveReturns Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - gnome is closed source? Samuel. KDE is the most closed source of all. It's horrible, I can do way more in gnome Linux. I switched between both and gnome has way more programs and apps for it.

Keruaran Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - rant/How can you keep hating KDE ? 4x has gone from ugly duckling 4.0 to beautiful swan 4.2. C'mon man have you seen the latest stuff from svn ? Its the most exciting desktop I've ever seen its all finally coming together & it just rocks dude, it just rocks. Rock & roll & its truly FREE!/endrantOk, XFCE its ok, I've always liked it more than GNOME even back when it was a bit crashy.I agree about where GNOME it heading. All I can say is, "Miguel de Icaza sucks SteveB's penis".Be Free.

Keruaran Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Ok, heres the first thing the GNOME community can do: Tell Miguel de Icaza and his ex-Ximian Novell employed Microsoft mutual admiration society buddies to F&#k off ! Tell them if they want to suck SteveB's big one, then go apply for a job at M$.

Keruaran Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - How is KDE closed source ? Seriously, do you have a clue what you're talking about ?

Keruaran Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - You obviously haven't been keeping up with KDE4 development. Its seriously rocking now. Its time to move on from the past.

ViciousDaveReturns Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - It's not, did I ever say it was? I said it was the most closed source like. I've used gnome and kde, and gnome has so much more to add, and a lot more apps compatible with it, and for it. In KDE, yeah I like it, but it doesn't have a lot of apps I want. I use Ubuntu, Mac and Windows.

Keruaran Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - How is using GNOME a more "ethical" choice than using KDE, or XFCE (among other GPL DE's and window managers) ?If the GNOME community continues on its current path of increasing Mono dependancy and letting M$ whores like Miguel de Icaza and his Ex-Ximian/Novell/Microsoft friends have their way then GNOME is destined to be assimilated into a Microsoft Borg cube.Be Free.

Keruaran Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Last I heard, RMS was using Ututo.

Keruaran Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - You said:"KDE is the most closed source of all."KDE is GPL, it is Free Software and it is arguably the most accessible and public of all Free Software desktop projects. To call the KDE project "the most closed source of all" is simply a ridiculous statement that has no basis in fact or reality.

RPCJerkobi Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Yes I have, I've tried even KDE 4.1 with proper updates and tried many times on many systems, expecting my problems were hardware related. They weren't, KDE4 is still not nearly as stable as GNOME 2.22 or xfce 4. I want stability, that's why I switched from Windows XP, because in Ubuntu GNOME, I experienced more stability than on windows.

PimpyMcBitch Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - I <3 GNOME, yet agree with where is heading. But KDE is gay.

TehLieutenant75 Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - RMS switched from Ututo to Gnewsense

TehLieutenant75 Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - I've been using Xfce on my Slack box some it is pretty good, I am still using KDE mostly, but I may start using Xfce more in the future.

DirtyRottenInsult Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - That hat sucks.

advancewars658 Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Gnome is becoming more Closed Source really? oh well even if it is as long as it's free for me to use i couldn't care less have fun with XfCE ;-)

CreatorOfBoredom Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - I have GNOME on my secondary laptop andthe last updates have nothing to do (IMO)with the claim that the GNOME is getting moreclosed source. Simply because the fact still remains that it's still a entirely free software and there is noeffing point to anyone change it to closed source...But, of course, I might be wrong...

orgthingy Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - to "XFCE OPERATING SYSTEM" hahaha, it's a DE :P

SamueltehG33k Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - it was an accident

orgthingy Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - ok sorry, never meant to make fun of you :) i watched many of your videos ;)
