But there is something very personal about Horowitz's rendition. It talks the most directly to me as if a friend were welcoming me & confiding something. It is so poignant. He makes it sound so simple. His scales are like pure trickling liquid glissandos.I should mention, Artur Rubinstein's version is sheer beauty. It's amazing how pieces can be played so differently.
