Dr. Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande performed on 9-Feb-08 as a part of annual all night music festival that was organized by Gururao Deshpande Sangeeth Sabha of Bangalore, led by Pt. Vinayak Torvi. She is accompanied on the Tabla by Sri. Gurumurthy Vaidya and on the Harmonium by Sri. Vyasmurthy Katti.Gururao Deshpande, the doyen of Gwalior Gharana, and one of the foremost performers though not amongst us today, is still serving the music field through one of his prominent disciples, Pandit Vinayak Torvi, who is an eminent and popular performing vocalist, all over India and abroad. Torviji has continued his Guruji's music tradition through his performances. This Gurushishya Parampara still continues, as the disciples of Pt. Torviji are also well known performers and committed to continue this tradition, keeping the Gururao Deshpande Music tree blooming and evergreen.The great son of our soil and a wonderful musician Gururao Deshpande breathed his last in 1982 at Bangalore. Pandit Torviji, his senior disciple thought of paying homage to his Guru by not only singing himself but also inviting other top artistes to perform.
