(takes the pills) So...Layla: There's a car outside waiting for you, by the way.Elia: A car?Layla: Yeah, to take you homeElia: Oh, thanks... you know, for everything.Layla: That's what friends do, right?Elia: Yeah... Layla, I really am sorry. About everything.Layla: It's okay, don't worry about it.Elia: (smiles) I should get going then, huh?Layla: (smiles) Yeah, probably.Elia: (picks up his tacos and coffee and heads towards the front door) Bye.Layla: Bye.(Layla stands there for a moment and then looks down at her wrist. She goes to her bedroom and takes out the bracelet she was given out of her drawer and then takes out a post-it note from her purse. She quickly writes something down and then heads towards Nick's bedroom)Layla: (whispering while shaking Nick slighty) Nick...Nick.Nick: wh-wh-what? (his eyes open) Layla? What time is it? (he sits up)Layla: It's 6:30.Nick: What's wrong?Layla: Nothing.(She takes out the post-it and puts in on Nick's forehead. After doing so, Layla gets up and leaves. Nick quickly reads the note and hurries out of bed and runs after her onto the porch)Nick: What's 'Yes' supposed to mean?Layla: What's a question mark supposed to mean?Nick: Maybe I was asking a question.Layla: And maybe I was answering your question.Nick: But how would you be answering my question if you're not even sure of what I asked?Layla: Maybe I knew what you were asking.Nick: (sighs) This is so complicated... What were you saying 'yes' to?Layla: What were you asking?Nick: Tell me what you were saying 'yes' to first...Layla: No, because I might've been saying it to something you weren't even asking and then I'll look like an idiot...Nick: Yeah well, I could've been asking something you weren't even saying 'yes' to and then I'll look like an idiot.(Layla starts to fidget a little)Nick: (chuckles) You're nervous.Layla: How do you do that?!Nick: You're fidgeting.Layla: Oh...Nick: I'll tell you what I was asking... but you have to promise not to laugh if you were thinking something totally different.Layla: Okay. I promise.Nick: I was asking if maybe... (sighs) If maybe you'd want to be my girlfriend?(Layla starts laughing)Nick: Layla!Layla: Sorry. (calms down) I'm laughing because we were being so stupid... My answer is yes.Nick: You should know not to mess with my head at 6:30 in the morning.(They both laugh)Nick: But in all seriousness, your answers 'yes'?Layla: Yes Nick! Yes... my answer is yes.(Nick smiles as he leans in and kisses her)Layla: (smiles) So I was wondering if you might do me the honor of helping me with my bracelet. (takes out the bracelet)Nick: Of course. (smiles and helps Layla put on her bracelet)Layla: I love it, Nick.Nick: I was hoping you would.Layla: (hugs him) Best birthday ever.Nick: (laughs) Now that I'm up, you want to go for a walk?Layla: (smiles) Sure.(They intertwine fingers as they walk out of the house)Next chapter should be up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
