Nov 18, 2008 - better than digital art by far. the finished product is alive and has a presence, while digital paintings are impressive but have no soul.
AtomicUs5000 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Hey thanks! I agree that digital works look a little strange, and I could never quite place what it was exactly. Perhaps you are right with that. I'll probably give some digital works a try one day just out of curiosity, because I must still respect it as an art form.
eyedirector Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - nice, i understand digital art is here to stay but I follow traditional art and don't respect digital art. Only the artist, I do respect very much, and can express themselves however they choose. I believe the old masters would be deeply dissatisfied by it. i will have a heart attack the day real paintings aren't fit for art galleries.
AtomicUs5000 Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - I just watched a documentary recently about this issue in animation and the previous wars between pixar ans disney... the threats posed on traditional animators with the new style. In the end, they ended up merging together with a partnership. As technology improves, it becomes easier to reproduce reality digitally, but what's the point? Take a photo or film. Digital art should probably go in a more progressive direction.
