Nov 18, 2008 - you don't need to know anything to experiment with your amp, just turn some dials and see where it lands. but if it helps my amp settings were Gain: 7Treble: 5Bass: 2Middle: 1it might sound very off considering my amps slowly dieing and you probably don't own the same amp that i do. I'm sure the video doesn't do like perfect justice, but how do the stock pickups sound? And are they versatile to play, oh say..metal?Also, are you happy with it overall?I'm asking because no store/person around here has one that I have seen, and I can't really play it before I buy it, so I'm getting as many opinions as possible.

Nov 18, 2008 - Well, I'm not really into metal, so i'm not the best person to ask on that. The stock pickups sound good, i have a pretty crappy amp so no it doesn't do it any justice. I'm very happy with it, it was an "upgrade" from the les paul junior you see in the background. I think you'll be very pleased with it, the only down side is that, (and i think this is for all SG models) the action is slightly high, not that much, but high nontheless. Hope this helped

Nov 18, 2008 - slightly higher. Depends on where you buy it. I bought mine in the store and i asked them to adjust it a little bit for me.

Nov 18, 2008 - well epiphone is made by gibson...its kinda like how squier is by fender...i have an epiphone and it sounds great...you can have a bad guitar and plug it into a good amp and it will sound fine...but yes epiphones arent as good as gibson but they are still pretty nice
