An alternative aircraft was made available to operate the flight (AI 717) which took off for Dubai at 1600 hrs more than an hour, he said. This is the second incident involving an Air India aircraft within two days.On Thursday, a Mumbai-Chennai flight was delayed for more than four hours when its door was damaged after an aerobridge (passenger boarding bridge) slammed against it.

May 16, 2008 - This is one of the worst news reports I've ever seen.A wake-up call about upgrading aging fleets? This is a state of the art 777 you are looking at! Every plane has technical problems once in a while, and sometimes it can lead to this... And comparing it with pilots avoiding a dog on the runway is just stupid.

May 17, 2008 - Did i hear correctly? Did she say: "unfortunately no passengers were onboard."?What did she want? Passengers on board and possibly injured to make a more sensational story? What a terrible report(er)!

May 17, 2008 - I think there was a plane to upgrade and service the nose landing gear ,,, Did i say somthing wrong!!!!!

xkoote Says:

May 18, 2008 - My God, that is what we call crappy journalism. The mention the nose gear, the arrow points at the main gear. They say the ATR was on it's stomach, it wasn't. They say mechanics narrowly avert being crushed and the arrow points to ground equipment. What a load of crap. And clearly trying to avoid a dog is clearly due to faulty maintenance of the carriers.....hahahahaha !!

May 20, 2008 - I had asked for clarification from the news channel, here's their response -Thank you sir for writing into usWe have checked the tape and Delnaaz did say - 'fortunately no passengers were on board"We apologise that a lack of clear pronounciation on the subject made it sound otherwise we will take care in the future to make sure this does not happen againOnce again thank you for writing to us about this and bringing it to our attentionRegardsTIMES NOW Team

May 20, 2008 - Wow! Great work! You really contacted them?I listened to the video again and you are right...AND fortunately sounds plausible. I retract my earlier comment. But i still think it is a bad piece. Lots of sensastionalism and insinuations. What does the kingfisher accident have to do with this air india incident? And this is a new leased airplane! With their last sentence they make it seem as is this accident is proof of the danger of their aging fleet

VIRAJ818 Says:

May 20, 2008 - I agree every aircraft has a minor problemand this aircraft is up and running again

mansees Says:

Jun 2, 2008 - This is plain and pure BS!This reporter does not even know what A/C she is taking about. This is a leased 772ER(Reg VT-AIK) thats only about 9 years old. In aviation industry thats a young A/C. And incidents like this happen all more frequently that one might think. Not to mention the Kingfisher incident was one where only Kingfisher PR "saw" the dog. Not anyone else. No one else mentioned it. And these "journalists" lapped it up.

patuamach Says:

Jun 30, 2008 - hey ManseesWhat the hell you talking about!! are you working for KINGFISHER ! why u advocating for them, we are least bother what others do, its a matter of no doubt that Indian Avaition sector hasnt been really serious of what they do, ofcourse there are countless service failures, thousands of parts-failure, its just a matter of fact that we dont have a massive disaster yet

djknightmare666 Says:

Jul 3, 2008 - haha my dad is the technical manager in india for that...they was doin a land 40 check on it and didnt have the landing gear pins in soo they whole thing gave way....door is a write off jet bridge fucked whole plane is fucked

djknightmare666 Says:

Jul 3, 2008 - my dad is the technical manager for india at mumbai...the plane is wet leases B777...your right in what you say there has been other problem but havent been reported but indians should stay away from planes they crash cessna on regular basis here in florida and now they're doing it to commercial airliners

xXSCREWSTONEXx Says:

Jul 13, 2008 - It's a damn good thing that they didn't depart from the airport! The second incident she spoke of was stupid because they tried to avoid a dog on the runway which caused them to skid off their landing path! That is stupid if you ask me!

prostokvashina Says:
