Electro-Harmonix Hum Debugger demo part 2 This is a follow-up of my previous demo of my Electro-Harmonix Hum Debugger. The pedal didn't come out very well in my first demo because of the weird extra effect it produced, but this thing seems to live it's own life, and now it's apparently changed to the better..!? It still produces that weird ring mod./flanger/short reverb/slapback sound when placed first in the chain, but in this demo it's placed at the end of my effect chain (in the amp's fx loop), and the result is now much better. There's still a slight sound alteration and some kind of short reverb/slap echo effect going on, but the weird ring mod/flanger thing is gone. And when I add some reverb and delay (from 1:00-1:20 and 2:17-end ), the difference is even less noticeable. I'd also like to add that I don't think my demos give the pedal full credit for it's hum eliminating effect, since there's not very much hum to eliminate in the first place with my setup. But I've been playing on stages with lights and all kinds of stuff where the hum has been a real mayhem, forcing me to play the whole show with the neck/middle or middle/bridge (hum canceling) pickup combinations, since the one single-coil only positions just hummed like crazy.. In these situations I think the Hum Debugger would be a very good problem solver (haven't had the chance to try this yet, though).I'm using a strat copy with Wilkinson single-coil pickups through an Engl Screamer 50 tube amp, "crunch" and "heavy lead" channels respectively, and a close-miked Shure SM58 in front of the amp. I'm using the bridge pickup, since the hum is most apparent here, and I'm switching the Hum Debugger on and off (watch the green light..). I've also added some Reverb (Boss RV-5), slap echo (Danelectro BLT) and Delay (Boss DD-6) www.ketilstrand.com
