Hallelujah Rhapsody (this is the short and simplified sample on piano) is based on the song Hallelujah by legendary singer, songwriter, poet and novelist Leonard Cohen, presented by Marrina. The song Hallelujah was recently performed at the Glastonbury Festival 2008 , 2007, and on American Idol by Jason Castro ( other finalists: David Cook, David Archuleta, Syesha Mercado, Michael Johns, Brooke White, Carly Smithson, Kristy Lee Cook ). He also performed Memory ( Cats, by Andrew Lloyd Webber ), I Don't Wanna Cry ( Mariah Carey), Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Israel Kamakawiwo'ole version), Forever In Blue Jeans and September Morn by Neil Diamond, Mr. Tambourine Man by Bob Dylan and I Shot the Sheriff. In addition to Jason Castro's performance on American Idol, Hallelujah was performed by Jeff Buckley, Sheryl Crow, Bono & The Edge ( U2 ), Sting, Bon Jovi, Willie Nelson, Rufus Wainwright, K.D. Lang, Fall Out Boy (sample) and others. It was featured in the film Shrek and television series such as Ugly Betty, ER, Crossing Jordan, Nip/Tuck, Dateline and others.
