Here's my Kirby Heritage 84, kindly offered to me by someone who saw my videos here and saw my username on Freecycle, so I've repaired it, tidied it up, upgraded it to use the new HEPAII bags (not fitted as yet, it has the G4/G5 type MicronMagic bags at the moment), but keeping the original Sani-Emtor. Pretty much everything looks original, bar the footswitch, cablehook, filltube and handle lock switch. The tools are mostly complete, the TurboBrush is from another Heritage toolset I bought but I still use it with this one... :)This was recorded onto 8mm Tape on a camcorder I got cheap, so the quality isn't great, but it works... :)Apologies for the poor editing in places, I just got a new video gadget and software, and the editing software is awful!!!

Jul 25, 2008 - Good work on your latest Kirby acquisition! I would like to see you cut a video of your USA-spec "Golden Trophy" Tradition with the metal fan replacing the plastic fan.

Jul 25, 2008 - wow great vid, ive also seen an "82" with that on the belt lifter and handel. my main drive is a 1HD, its my fave. Turbo power rules.

Jul 25, 2008 - I will make one once I have a motor fitted to it, it's just waiting for a video to be made!!! :D

twocvbloke Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - I like using it, it still needs some work doing though but works well as it is... :)I can't wait to try it out with the HEPAII bags though, I bet it'll strip the carpet of any dirt!!! :D

Jul 25, 2008 - Cool! One of the best videos uploaded in a while!

twocvbloke Says:

Jul 25, 2008 - Thanks, I aimed to do most of the usual stuff in one go, plus I was messing about with my "new" camcorder when I did the arty shots of it... :)I didn't realise I'd left the manual shutter option on, so the serial no. got washed out, but I know what I'm doing with the camera now... :D

Jul 25, 2008 - woha! my handle and belt lifter are different on my h84! are they not original?

twocvbloke Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Yours could have been rebuilt with plain Heritage parts years ago, or is maybe a mixture of both, the original parts to look for are:"K84K" logo on the wheels and handle grip"Genuine Kirby 84" tag on the bagHeritage 84 on the Belt lifter and Bag topKirby ©84 on the handle base:)

adb140275 Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - i have the bag tag and mark on the handle label but thats it.

twocvbloke Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Hmm, definitely sounds like it might be a rebuild or a frankenkirby, but it's still a Kirby... :)I wonder if it's possible to decode the serials like the previous models? That might yield some info on the motor age... :)

Jul 26, 2008 - Your H84 sounds so much different on high speed than an older, metal fanned model...it sounds more smoother, sort of. On my Kirbys, they all sound like they do on low, except higher pitch (ya know, that nice "ohhhhhhhhh" sound). How well does the Heritage Turbo Brush work? I've heard it was a bit restrictive as far as air flow, but how well can it clean? And nice annotations, that dirt was trembling in fear! :D

twocvbloke Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - My H84 has the Grey Lexan fan (I think, I may have swapped it for a white Kevlar one!), I have been tempted to fit my metal fan to see how it sounds on high speed (seeing how my CIII or Trad doesn't have 2 speeds), but that's for another day!!! :DThe Turbo Brush is good for the stairs, but pretty tough to use, if you watch carefully you'll see I don't always have the brush plate flat on the carpet, and after using it recently to do the stairs, my wrist was aching!!! I want the Zipp brush!!! :D

moosjawskachywan Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - Ah, I figured it had the Lexan fan, but if you put in a Kevlar, awesome! :D And that'd be neat! :DAh. Well, check ebay, they have them pretty cheap, and the vacuum store I got my Zipp Brush from only asks $15 US for it.

twocvbloke Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I think the Kevlar and Lexan fans have a similar sound to them, but the metal fan is a unique sound... :DI have tried to get a Zipp brush, but people keep outbidding me on eBay, cos I'm a cheapskate... :P

moosjawskachywan Says:

Jul 26, 2008 - I've never actually heard either kind on a pre-Gen Kirby before. All I know is metal fans lol. And yes it is very unique, I have heard nothing else like it.Kent's shop has em, I think.

twocvbloke Says:

Jul 27, 2008 - I'm too scared to use my metal fan incase I pick something big or heavy up and break it, but it does sound nice... :DI have looked at Kent's store for them, but as I say, I'm a cheapskate, but I'm sure I'll have one someday... :)

twocvbloke Says:

Jul 27, 2008 - I just noticed something, when I zoomed in too quickly on the hose (should have been edited out) I muttered a rude word under my breath... :SIt rhymes with Pollocks if you're wondering what it is... :P

moosjawskachywan Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - Nevermind about that question, I just read the description.... :P

twocvbloke Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - Okeydokes... :)I think I accidentally deleted your last message though... :S

moosjawskachywan Says:

Jul 29, 2008 - I think I just asked if you were still using the MM bags or if you'd switched over to the HEPA poly bags, but then I read the description lol.

twocvbloke Says:

Aug 4, 2008 - Sorry tmmaston, I clicked toe wrong link and deleted your post!!!:"My mom had the exact same vacuum cleaner until she sucked something up and killed it"It must have been something big to kill a Kirby, there's not much that will kill them!!!
