27th Koszalin Debut Film Festival "Young and Film"There are two contests organized at the Festival. "The Great Jantar" is a contest of full-length feature films. The award is 20 000PLN. The second contest, "Small Jantar", is for short feature debuts in three categories: animation, documentary and feature film. During five days of the festival there were 8 projections of full-length films, 50 short ones and 5 the best foreign debuts of the previous year. The participants of the gala commemorated the Friday's death of Piotr Łązarkiewicz with a minute of silence.Jury granted such prizes as:„Great Jantar 2008" for the best premiere (the prize of 20.000 PLN) -- film „Wednesday, Thursday morning" directed by Grzegorz Packa „Jantar 2008" for the best screenplay (10.000 PLN) -- Beata Hyczko, film „Fur" directed by Tomasz Drozdowicz „Jantar 2008" for the best pictures (8.000 PLN) -- Tomasz Michałowski, film „Strawberry Vine" directed by Dariusz Jabłoński „Jantar 2008" for the best actress debut, (8.000 PLN) -- Joanna Kulig for the role in film "Wednesday, Thursday morning" directed by Grzegorz Packa „Jantar 2008" for the best actor debut (8.000 PLN) -- Paweł Tomaszewski for the role in film "Wednesday, Thursday morning" directed by Grzegorz Packa Jury decided to grant a special prize (an award of 5.000 PLN) Bodo Kox for the sense of humor, irony and desperate creativity in film „Don't panic" The Publicity Award was granted to the film „Don't panic" directed by Bodo Kox „SuperJantar" for the best actress debut of the decade went to Małgorzata Kożuchowska for the role in film „Kiler" by Juliusz Machulski, and „SuperJantar" for the best actor of the decade went to Tomasz Kot for the role in film „Sentenced to blues" directed by Jan Kidawa Błoński.
