I have been singing since I could talk. At two years old I knew every word to Boot Scootin Boogie by Brooks and Dunn, and Shake the Sugar Tree by Pam Tillis. My dad would play the guitar, and I would sing my heart out. The first time I ever performed in front of a real audience, other than a few of my friends, or at a family get together, I was in the second grade. I sang the National Anthem at my school's high school basketball game. I have been hooked ever since. I sang the national anthem at almost every home game after that until I graduated, and was even asked to sing at a few of the away games. My dad likes to tell people that when I was 7 years old I told him I wanted to sing on the radio. He told me I could do it, but I would have to do something toward it everyday. I can honestly say I have not gone a day since without singing something. If I'm not singing, then I'm playing guitar, or trying to learn a new song, or writing, or something. Although I love singing, I also love sports. I played basketball all through elementary, Jr. High, and High School. When I was younger I played softball, and soccer. My favorite though was basketball. I have sung in many shows, and performed many times on stage. I won the Goody's/Stone's River Teen Star contest in August of 2005. I have also been in many plays including the roles of Cinderella in Rodger's and Hammerstein's Cinderella and Gabriella Montez in Disney's High School Musical. I have never taken any kind of professional guitar lessons. I learned a few chords from my dad, but for the most part I am completely self taught. I did however take voice lessons for about 3 years. It was the best thing I ever did. It was there that I learned how to breathe and sing properly without doing so much damage to my voice. If I had not taken voice lessons, there would be no way in the world I could do what I can now. My goal is to one day hear my song on the radio. I want to sing in front of thousands of people screaming my name, and singing every word to my songs. There is nothing in the world I would rather be doing. I love to sing. It is my life. Right now, I am 19 years old. I am in college, and I am a Recording Industry Major. I absolutely love it so far, and I can't wait to start my career!
